Association of China–Spain Science and Technology Youth Science Program (Series I) Successfully Held

Under the guidance of Professor De-Yi Wang, President of the Association, the Association of China–Spain Science and Technology (ACSST) successfully held the first session of Youth Science Popularization Lecture Series on November 21, 2025, at the Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) / Morto & Sports Institute (MSI). The event featured a special invited lecture by Dr. Bitao Lu from UFV, titled “Drawing Inspiration from Nature: Design and Applications of Biomimetic Materials.”

Dr. Lu delivered a 30-minute academic talk, presenting the design principles, research methodologies, and practical applications of biomimetic materials in a clear and engaging manner. His presentation vividly showcased the charm of scientific research and captured the full attention of the young participants. The compelling explanations and impressive research achievements received wide acclaim from both the youth members and their parents. Following the lecture, Dr. Guang-Zhong Yin, association director, presented Dr. Lu with a commemorative certificate on behalf of the Association as a token of sincere appreciation.

The youth members then took a group photo with Dr. Lu to commemorate the occasion. It was particularly encouraging that all youth members attended this inaugural lecture, filling the venue to capacity. Both students and accompanying parents listened attentively and engaged actively, demonstrating strong interest in science. During the discussion session, parent representatives also shared their reflections and encouraged the youth to continue exploring and cultivating a scientific spirit. We hope that the seeds of scientific wisdom planted through such activities will one day germinate and flourish in their lives.

After the lecture, we organized a visit to the MSI Racing Exhibition Hall for the youth members and their parents. Immersed in a world shaped by technological imagination, participants experienced up close the integration of speed, materials science, engineering design, and aesthetic innovation. The multidimensional exhibition enabled everyone to appreciate the profound charm of racing—an advanced synthesis of science, technology, and art. This dual visual and intellectual experience not only broadened the children’s horizons but also ignited a spark for further scientific exploration.

This event was made possible through the generous support of UFV and MSI, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks. The activity was hosted throughout by Dr. Guang-Zhong Yin, Director of the Youth Committee, with Dr. Xiao-Mei Yang and Dr. Rohit Khargotra responsible for overall coordination and organization.
